In this stage, raw water undergoes a thorough

the water.

The method of removal of most pathogenic
micro-organisms is called as disinfection. This process can be made by UV light
or by various Chemicals such as Chlorine.
Chlorine is one of the widely used disinfectants. There
are two kinds of compounds used as a disinfectant, which are sodium
hypocrite and solid calcium hypocrite solution.

Ion Exchange
In this process one, a charged ion present in water is
removed with the similarly charged ion

Neutralization
The pH of the water plays an essential role in
maintaining water quality. In this process, the pH of the water is maintained
for human consumption.
3.
Biological Treatment
The use of biological objects to treating wastewater
is called biological treatment. Aerobic and anaerobic processes can achieve this.
